02. Who are we?
The second annual Delta Trap off-road cycle race, will be held on Sunday 21 April 2013 on Solms-Delta wine estate near Franschhoek.
Organised in conjunction with Franschhoek Cycles and set against the backdrop of the majestic Groot and Klein Drakenstein mountains, this race consists of a 20km loop that follows a route through working vineyards and along the banks of the Dwars river. Three quarters of the race comprises mainly farm roads, with a mix of sandy sections, some harder surfaces with stones and some short sections of single track.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall in the 60km team event as well as for the top male/female in the 60km, 40km and 20km individual events. All finishers will enter a draw to win bicycle accessories, wine and restaurant vouchers. 544 cyclists completed the 2012 inaugural Delta Trap and this event is set to become a firm favourite on the racing calendar.
This event is a fund-raiser for the Anna Foundation.
