Nutrigenomics – the study of how specific nutrients in food influence health by altering the expression of various genes – has been heralded as the future in optimising nutrition to combat disease and it is Hill’s Pet Nutrition that is pioneering the application of this new science.
Dr Hein Meyer, Director of Professional & Veterinary Affairs in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, recently visited South Africa to explain to vets how Hill’s Prescription Diet j/d and r/d have literally moved science from lab to bag and are making a very real difference to pets affected by obesity and osteoarthritis.
During his tour to Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Onderstepoort Dr Meyer spoke to over 700 veterinary professionals. Responding to the high level of media interest he also spoke to journalists from more than 20 publications and was interviewed by Leigh Bennie on 702 / Cape Talk.
